Het Zesde Metaal announces upcoming EP 'Randgevallen' en shares first single

Anyone who had the privilege of attending Het Zesde Metaal’s theater tour in the spring of 2025 was treated to a handful of brand new songs. Only to realize afterwards that, unfortunately, they were nowhere to be (re)discovered. Until now. The urge to capture these songs for eternity eventually grew too strong. So last summer, Wannes Cappelle and co spent a few days at DAFT Music Studios in Waimes, for the first time in their new line-up with Kasper Cornelus on guitar/keys and Sander Verstraete on bass.

The result is ‘Randgevallen’: five songs, five stories from both personal and worldly life that once again prove Het Zesde Metaal’s unmatched ability to describe, move, and enchant. It also showcases the musical and lyrical versatility that has defined the band for years.

Today, not coincidentally on September 1st, the first single ‘Traagskes groeien’ is released. In ‘Traagskes groeien’, the tempo slows down and the focus turns inward, reflecting on children slowly outgrowing the nest. ge moet u zo nie spoeien / ge moet traagskes groeien / ge moe’ laagske per laagske groeien’, Cappelle sings, postponing the act of letting go just a little longer.

‘Randgevallen’ was recorded with Frederik Segers (production) and Jasper Maekelberg (mix), and will be released on October 3th. With the record in hand ,and on the merch table , the band will resume its theater tour, this time on a larger scale, performing in beautiful venues such as Concertgebouw Bruges, Capitole Ghent, and in the Netherlands.
